Spring Fever at Rillito
Celebrate Spring! Heirloom Farmers Markets Hosts Annual
Spring Fever: A Springtime Education and Planting Throw Down
Spring Fever is here and especially at the Rillito Park Farmers Market! On Sunday, March 12, some of our plant vendors/growers will be on hand with tomato seedlings, herb starts, worm compost, seeds for planting, and cacti and flowers to fill your garden. Pima Master Gardeners and Tucson Organic Gardeners will have information tents to field all of your gardening questions. Around our center circle at the Rillito Park Food Pavilion (4502 N. 1st Ave.) you’ll find all things green and signs of spring! Tanks Green Stuff will be on site with local compost and soil products perfect for your garden and succulent needs. Also, our neighbors, Tucson Village Farm, will be hosting an educational kid’s activity throughout the duration of the market! And we’re very excited to have the sweet sounds of Melody Pond gracing us all the way from Fayetteville, AR while they make a stop on their Southwest tour.
Keep an eye to the center circle portion of the market for Aravaipa Heirloom tomato seedlings, Arid Adaptations Nursery and Family Tree Nursery with succulents and flowering shrubs. Desert Edibles will have all your 2017 summer vegetable seeds. Plus, Vermillion Wormery will also be on hand with veggie and herb starts, worm castings, composting worms, compost and earthworms.
