Summer is here! Sun ripened tomatoes are aplenty and fragrant, and sweet basil is abundant. Come celebrate the taste of summer! We’ll be kicking off the event on Saturday, July 23rd at the Oro Valley Farmer’s Market (Steam Pump Ranch) and have our large fiesta on Sunday, July 24th at Rillito Park Farmers Market (Food Pavilion).
Enjoy some of the season’s finest: artisan breads, chilled gazpacho, heirloom tomatoes, tomato jams, roasted tomatoes, basil pasta, lasagna, and specialty basil infused soaps! Take home fresh bundles of basil from the market and basil drenched olive oil for your pantry. Gather fresh tomato and basil recipes for your collection at home, and visit the market info booth for information about vendor specials!
Before shopping the Farmers Market visit our Food Demonstration Booth to sample the best flavors of basil and tomato. Then see the diverse bounty of local fresh tomatoes and basil from our farmers including Markley Farms, Larrys Veggies, Backyard Gardening and Growing, High Energy Agriculture, La Oesta Gardens, Southwinds Farm, Farm, Sleeping Frog Farms, Grammy’s, and Richcrest Farms. Plus, enjoy live music on Saturday with Michael P. Nordberg and on Sunday from Woke Up Dead. The market is open from 8am to 12noon and tomato tastings will start at 9am.
