Friday Market Moves From Jesse Owens to Trail Dust Town
Heirloom Farmers Markets is thrilled to announce the launch of its newest market held Friday mornings at Trail Dust Town – Home of Pinnacle Peak Friday, January 9, 2015. The market moves from Jesse Owens Park to Trail Dust Town on Friday, January 9 and will feature its Grand Opening the same day. The market will run from 9am-1pm and will feature over 20 of Baja Arizona’s finest local food vendors.
For the past 4 years, Heirloom Farmers Markets held their Friday neighborhood market at Jesse Owens Park on south Sarnoff. “Tucson’s East side residents have been very supportive of our farmers market at Jesse Owens Park. Trail Dust Town is a busy commercial venue that is easily accessed by major cross streets and has a charming courtyard that takes us back to the ‘Old West’ time and place when great food merchants came to town to sell their goods. Moving to Trail Dust Town just continues our mission to have thriving farmers markets in comfortable attractive locations.” says Roxanne Garcia – Co-Executive Director of Heirloom Farmers Markets.
Heirloom Farmers Markets has been serving the greater Tucson area for more than a decade, and operates the largest farmers market system in Southern Arizona. Since receiving its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status earlier this year, Heirloom has been moving forward on a host of initiatives that will directly support locally owned and operated fresh food businesses, increase public involvement, and support community health and wellness. With national interest in farmers markets at an all-time high, Heirloom is committed to developing farmers market systems as centers of sustainable local food economies and community life.
